The fourth annual The Future of Southern Minnesota Lakes Conference will empower attendees to enact tangible, real-world change toward water quality.
Building on the success of the last three years, ISG and partners continue to dive deeper into current lake water quality topics. Conference attendees will be equipped with essential tools, innovative approaches, and invaluable resources to champion the restoration and preservation of Southern Minnesota lakes.

DEADLINE: MNGreenCorps program
Minnesota GreenCorps is an AmeriCorps program that places members with organizations throughout Minnesota to spend a year of service addressing critical environmental issues while gaining experience and learning valuable job skills. The MPCA plans to select site organizations to host up to 58 members across the state. Organizations eligible to host include government entities (local, regional, state, and tribal), school districts, public education institutions, and nonprofit organizations. MN GreenCorps members serve full-time for 11 months from September 2026 through August 2027 on projects that align with one of four topic areas: community readiness and outreach, energy conservation and green transportation, stormwater and forestry, or waste reduction and recycling.

DEADLINE: MAISRC request for proposals
MAISRC is seeking proposals for research studies to advance early detection and prevention of the establishment aquatic invasive species (AIS), create and improve options for AIS control, and assess risk and species impacts to prioritize management actions in Minnesota. Through this competitive Request for Proposals (RFP), MAISRC will administer an estimated $2,300,000 to fund high-priority research needs focused on both new lines of research and continuation of existing projects.

DEADLINE: Lawn to Legumes
Minnesota residents are eligible to apply for Lawns to Legumes reimbursement-based funding of up to $400 to create pollinator habitat in their yards.
The application deadline for the Fall 2025 Lawns to Legumes Individual Support program is May 15, 2025. Grant recipients will be notified in mid-June 2025. Fill out the form below to apply!
DEADLINE: LLCCMR: 2026 ENRIF Request for Proposal
The Legislative-Citizen Commission on Minnesota Resources (LCCMR) welcomes proposals for projects of all sizes that address the priorities and requirements described within this Request for Proposal (RFP) and that aim to protect, conserve, preserve, and enhance Minnesota’s air, water, land, fish, wildlife, and other natural resources. The LCCMR reviews applications and makes funding recommendations to the Minnesota Legislature from the Environment and Natural Resources Trust Fund (ENRTF). Approximately $103 million is available from the Trust Fund through this RFP for projects beginning July 1, 2026. Most projects funded are two to three years in duration. Proposals must be submitted online at lccmrprojectmgmt.leg.mn by March 19, 2025.

DEADLINE: Stormwater Reslience Grants
The MPCA is soliciting project proposals to distribute $35 million to communities for projects to prepare local stormwater infrastructure for the impacts of climate change. These projects are specifically meant to address water quantity and prevent localized flooding.

TRAINING: P8 Software Model Workshop
This workshop will introduce you to the fundamentals of water quality modeling with a focus on P8 Urban Catchment Model. P8 is a water quality model for simulating pollutant generation and treatment in urban areas.
DEADLINE: Funding from the National Fish Habitat Partnership
The Fishers & Farmers Partnership is inviting submissions for projects designed to improve farm profitability while revitalizing aquatic ecosystems and boosting native fish stocks in streams within the Mississippi River basin. Funding from the National Fish Habitat Partnership, administered by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, is available for the highest-ranking proposals. The submission deadline is January 15, 2025.
TRAINING: Smart Salting roads certification training
Smart Salting training helps improve operator effectiveness and reduce chloride pollution while keeping roads, parking lots, and sidewalks safe. Participating organizations have been able to reduce their salt use by 30 to 70%.
